Surgical Services Nurse

We are looking for an Surgical Services Nurse, also known as an OR Circulating Nurse, to join our Ambulatory Surgery department at Prime Healthcare. This role focuses on delivering specialized care to patients undergoing surgical interventions in a surgery center setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments to evaluate patients' medical histories, current health status, and any potential risks related to surgical procedures.
- Prepare the surgical environment, which includes setting up necessary equipment, positioning devices, medications, specimens, and/or implants.
- Safely transfer and position patients on the operating table, ensuring their comfort and security.
- During surgical procedures, assist the healthcare team by preparing the patient, organizing supplies and equipment, and providing necessary support. This may include preparing local anesthesia or medications as directed.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of each phase of the peri-operative process, ensuring safe patient care throughout the entire surgical experience.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current status.
- Current ACLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current status.
- Current PALS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current status.
- A minimum of one year of previous perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
