Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician II to join our team at Steward Health Care. As a key member of our Biomedical Engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes for our medical center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform functional testing, preventative maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical instrumentation throughout the hospital.
  • Perform routine scheduled preventative maintenance on a wide variety of electronic and electromechanical patient care equipment.
  • Inspect and install medical and related technical equipment in hospital, laboratory, and research facilities.
  • Service medical laboratory equipment and have strong troubleshooting, communication, and computer skills.
  • Use office automation hardware and software applications and diagnostic service software appropriate to the equipment being serviced.
  • Maintain documentation required by management and as outlined by current policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Biomedical Electronic Technology (and/or requisite industry experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years medical equipment service experience
  • Excellent technical knowledge of biomedical equipment preventive and corrective repair standards
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment repairs
  • Knowledge of computers, electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles
  • AAMI BMET/CRES/CLES certification is highly desirable
