Key Responsibilities

We seek dedicated professionals who will exemplify the Select Medical Way, which emphasizes patient-first approaches, enhancing community quality of life, continuous personal and professional development, delivering high-quality care, and adhering to ethical practices.

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will take initiative and responsibility daily, understanding the physical, mental, psychological, and social needs of your patients. You will possess expertise in communication skills, assessment, and treatment, and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver quality interdisciplinary patient programs. Your role will involve conducting comprehensive evaluations of communication abilities and/or swallowing functions and providing targeted treatment to optimize communication and/or swallowing capabilities.

  • Collaborate with team members to monitor the quality of services offered by the Rehabilitation Therapy Department.
  • Engage in peer evaluations for staff performance and assessments.
  • Contribute to the development of the SLP role within programs and services, including revising departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate inventory of supplies.
  • Share professional knowledge and insights, and inform management of educational needs.
Qualifications

Successful candidates will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of patient needs, ensuring that each individual feels informed, understood, and valued. You should be committed to delivering superior quality care and possess innovative problem-solving skills, thriving in a dynamic work environment.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Graduation from a program that meets the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association's academic and practicum requirements for the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
  • Possession of a valid license issued by the state of practice.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
