Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

Job Summary:

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will work under the supervision of an occupational therapist to provide occupational therapy treatments and procedures to patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans for patients.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of patients to identify their strengths, weaknesses, and needs.
  • Implement occupational therapy interventions, such as exercises, activities, and education, to help patients achieve their goals.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree from an accredited occupational therapist assistant program.
  • Current state license and/or certification to provide occupational therapist assistant services in good standing.
  • Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • 1+ year of experience in occupational therapy or a related field.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Working Conditions:

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate effectively, and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Physical Requirements:

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will be required to stand, walk, and move around the work environment, as well as lift and move patients as needed. The ideal candidate will be able to perform these physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
