Electroneurodiagnostic Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Electroneurodiagnostic Technician to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for conducting patient testing, including EMG's, electroencephalograms (EEG), nerve conduction studies, and electronystagmograms (ENG).
Key Responsibilities- Conduct patient testing, including EMG's, EEG's, NCS, and ENG's
- Maintain timely completion of daily patient testing and accurate documentation of patient testing
- Perform physical maintenance of clinical testing equipment
- Prepare and position patients for testing, including measuring and marking cranial area and fastening electrodes to specified positions on scalp and body
- Explain procedures to reduce apprehension and elicit cooperation
- Deliver excellent patient experience behaviors, conveying compassion and respect for patients and coworkers
- Consistently deliver the nursing 5 must haves, including purposeful hourly rounding and using whiteboard as a tool for patient communication
- Independently perform all neurodiagnostic procedures, including routine and complex EEG's, ambulatory EEG's, NCS, and TCD
- Set up, operate electromyographic equipment to assist neurologists in testing electrical activity of muscles and measuring conducting function of nerves
- Adjust, monitor, record frequencies and flows, and record filters and sensitivity levels to optimize test results
- Responsible for the final disposition of interpreted test results, including transcribing dictated interpretations into report format and posting inpatient results to patient charts in a timely fashion
- Scans results into HIS system for availability to physicians and medical records when department is closed
- Enters appropriate charges in HIS and keeps records of all units of service for statistical reporting
- Candidate must be certified through ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation or must be certified within one year of hire
- Recent experience in EMG and ENG in addition to EEG preferred but not required
- Will accept candidates without an Associate's degree if certified in one of the modalities
- Combination of postsecondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree
