This opportunity is located at Fort Drum, NY.

Civilian employees play a vital role in supporting the Army mission by providing specialized skills that are not readily available within the military. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

Fort Drum, home of the 10th Mountain Division, is situated in Northern New York's picturesque North County. This area offers numerous outdoor recreational opportunities such as hunting, fishing, boating, sailing, scuba diving, white water rafting, and winter sports.

Fort Drum borders Lake Ontario, the St. Lawrence River, Canada, the Adirondack Mountains, and Vermont. Guthrie Army Health Center is located on-site, offering medical services to the community.

Responsibilities

This Occupational Medicine Physician will:

  • Develop policies to support the medical examination program, including pre-employment evaluations, baseline health screenings, and periodic medical surveillance.
  • Provide technical consultations on occupational medicine programs, such as Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, and Infection Control.
  • Support DHA personnel in investigating workers' compensation cases and developing policies to expedite early return-to-work programs.
  • Serve as a consultant to commanders and staff on medical and occupational health matters.
  • Collaborate with other agencies to develop educational programs promoting awareness of health hazards and compliance with federal regulations.
Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited institution.
  • Have at least one year of supervised experience in a clinical setting, such as an internship or residency program.
  • Be licensed to practice medicine in a state, district, or territory of the United States.
  • Meet the required experience/training standards for the specialty of Occupational Medicine.

A competitive salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location. Benefits include comprehensive healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.
