Medicine for Business and Industry (MBI) operates a network of outpatient clinics focused on providing specialized care for work-related injuries. Our comprehensive services cater to treating acute occupational injuries, offering patients timely access to high-quality medical attention.

Work Environment

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient care in both clinic and telemedicine settings, adhering to established clinical practices and organizational protocols.
  • Support Advanced Practice Providers at designated clinic locations, including supervising or rendering care as needed.
  • Conduct thorough physical exams, evaluating all body systems, vision, hearing, and electrocardiograms to assess an individual's capacity to perform specific job functions safely.
  • Provide medical opinions regarding job accommodations to ensure employees can safely perform their duties.
  • Review and interpret chest radiographs to determine the presence of pre-existing pulmonary conditions prior to commencing work.
  • Participate in the workers' compensation process, including SAMM calls, depositions, and testifying in hearings when required.
  • Perform Fit for Duty evaluations.
  • Evaluate and manage common occupational musculoskeletal injuries, including neck, back, upper, and lower extremities.
  • Treat work-related head injuries with or without loss of consciousness, assuming the individual is currently conscious and alert.
  • Address work-related chest or abdominal injuries, potentially involving hernias.
  • Tend to lacerations on the face, scalp, and extremities resulting from workplace incidents.
  • Care for work-related eye injuries, including foreign bodies, non-penetrating injuries, and chemical exposures.
  • Evaluate and treat occupational asthma and other work-related respiratory symptoms.
  • Manage uncomplicated fractures, interpreting radiographs, splinting, and referring to orthopedic specialists when necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • MD/DO degree
  • Occupational Medicine experience preferred, but willing to train otherwise qualified candidates with experience in UC, FP, IM, ER, Sports Medicine, or Ortho
  • FMCSA certification for DOT exams preferred, required within 60 days of hire (certification expenses covered by MBI)
  • Current state licensure in good standing (or in process)
  • Current DEA licensure
  • Level I/II accreditation preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer use and Electronic Medical Records systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $93.81 to $133.31, depending on experience. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a range of benefits to support your well-being and career growth.
