We are seeking a part-time Radiology Technologist to join our team at OrthoCarolina Huntersville and OrthoCarolina Huntersville Urgent Care location.

The successful candidate will provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants while protecting employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and usage of appropriate protection standards.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Communicating with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Positioning patients and selecting exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and providing patient with radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
  • Cleaning and making minor adjustments to radiology equipment and ensuring equipment is in working order and reporting equipment malfunctions to Radiology Manager or designee.
  • Preparing copies of x-ray films/CD's for patients, tests, surgery, and physicians as required.
  • Logging radiological procedures completed, processing charges, and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of examination rooms and stocking necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department.
  • Assisting with the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department and assisting with patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor.

Education required:

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.

Experience required:

  • Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background.

Professional license or certification requirements:

  • Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or ARRT registry eligible.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to operate various manufacturer types of Radiology suite equipment, (i.e. Siemens/GE/Philips).
  • Skill in proficient use of various manufacturer types of Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiology (CR) reader systems.
  • Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
  • Skill in positioning patients properly and performing quality diagnostic radiographs.
  • Observes safety and security procedures.
