Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Specialist to join our team at Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. This is a leadership role that requires a strong background in construction management, training, and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to construction teams, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Develop and implement training programs for new employees, focusing on construction techniques, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of construction supervisors, providing feedback and coaching to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the Construction Manager to develop and implement safety programs, ensuring a zero-accident culture within the department.
  • Manage construction projects, including estimating, scheduling, and budgeting, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate with engineering and operations personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with senior management and stakeholders to ensure shared goals are met.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of related experience in construction management, training, and safety.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 5-7 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction techniques, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 4-6 years of experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in responding to operational emergencies and interacting with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of construction work associated with facilities such as generating stations and substations.
  • Experience with project scheduling and budgeting.
  • Strong understanding of electrical specifications and procedures, including the General Instructions Governing Work on System Electrical Equipment (Rule Book) and the National Electric Code (NEC).
