Job Summary
This position provides coverage for teachers while they are out of office for extended periods in the district. We have openings for this position in the district.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate learning objectives to students and create engaging lessons aligned with pacing guidelines and district curriculum.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet diverse student needs and interests.
- Use student data from formative and summative assessments to plan instructional delivery.
- Participate in teacher-based teams to analyze data and adapt instruction to impact student learning.
- Implement the District's classroom management strategies and program.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with students, parents, and other staff.
- Attend Staff meetings and professional development activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Valid Ohio substitute teaching license.
- Experience working in urban education.
- Understanding of literacy- and language-based approaches to teaching content area.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and intervention strategies.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and child development principles.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in a classroom setting.
- Travel to different schools to provide coverage.
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
