Patient Care Support Specialist

The Patient Care Support Specialist is tasked with various administrative functions that facilitate efficient patient care. This includes managing patient registration, verifying insurance, collecting necessary co-payments, and scheduling both diagnostic and follow-up appointments while handling incoming calls.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, standard business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients upon arrival and ensure minimal wait times.
- Conduct check-in and check-out procedures, including insurance verification and pre-authorizations.
- Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles, providing receipts as needed.
- Assist walk-in patients and visitors effectively.
- Manage phone calls, schedule appointments, and address inquiries or concerns.
- Oversee medical records management, ensuring proper filing and preparation for appointments.
- Ensure all correspondence is appropriately filed and maintain logs for medical records requests.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, colleagues, and the community.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months of customer service experience with strong communication skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- 1+ years of experience in a medical office setting, including data entry.
- Familiarity with general office procedures.
- Knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT coding.
- Experience with EMR systems.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
