The Patient Care Support Specialist is tasked with various administrative functions that facilitate efficient patient care. This includes managing patient registration, verifying insurance, collecting necessary co-payments, and scheduling both diagnostic and follow-up appointments while handling incoming calls.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, standard business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients upon arrival and ensure minimal wait times.
  • Conduct check-in and check-out procedures, including insurance verification and pre-authorizations.
  • Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles, providing receipts as needed.
  • Assist walk-in patients and visitors effectively.
  • Manage phone calls, schedule appointments, and address inquiries or concerns.
  • Oversee medical records management, ensuring proper filing and preparation for appointments.
  • Ensure all correspondence is appropriately filed and maintain logs for medical records requests.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, colleagues, and the community.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 6 months of customer service experience with strong communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in a medical office setting, including data entry.
  • Familiarity with general office procedures.
  • Knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT coding.
  • Experience with EMR systems.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
