We are seeking a Senior Planning and Coordination Specialist to join our Electrical Systems team in the Propulsion Plant Planning Yard. This role will be responsible for preparing and coordinating plans and schedules for new or existing programs, determining and monitoring costs, operational budgets, and schedules, as well as reviewing manpower requirements.
As a key member of our team, you will support and participate in negotiations with customers, analyze the effects of projects on various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain required resources. You will also resolve proposal preparation problems and assess progress against established plans and parameters, formulating and recommending corrective action measures.
This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience, or a Master's Degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience. One of the following may be used as equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree: NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate, Associate's Degree or other formal 2-year program, Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience, or High School/GED with 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience.
The selected candidate will work closely with our team to manage labor reporting of approximately 60 individuals, understanding related scope of work, managing multi-million dollar material budget associated with the team, including tracking and initiating configuration management data sheets, creating statements of work for Purchase requisitions, and managing operational budget for the laboratory.
