Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Employee to join our team in the School of Agricultural Sciences. As a Student Employee, you will assist in laboratory maintenance, construction of laboratory equipment, and laboratory organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in laboratory maintenance, including cleaning and organization of equipment and tools
- Construct laboratory equipment and assist in the design and construction of wood and metal objects
- Operate an Oxygen Fuel Cutting torch, Gas Metal Arc Welding, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding machine
- Secure cargo and pull a trailer
- Operate a forklift and hand truck/pallet jack
- Design and construct wood and metal objects
- Organize the laboratory and toolrooms
Requirements:
- Must be able to safely drive a truck and have a valid driver's license
- Must be experienced in safely operating a forklift and hand truck/pallet jack
- Must have experience using oxygen fuel torch, welding equipment, and hand tools
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds safely
- Must follow all safety protocols
- Must have successfully passed AGET 2303
Working Conditions:
This position is located at the William Harrell Building in the I45 Complex. The successful candidate must have transportation to and from the work site.
