Company Overview:
The Wayne County Government is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a nurse practitioner in this role, you will provide pediatric psychiatric care under the general clinical direction of the Medical Director/Psychiatrist and within the 24-hour operating Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Job Description:
This position requires the ability to conduct and complete psychiatric examinations according to guidelines outlined by the Michigan Department of Community Health Behavior and Health, MDHHS Licensing Rules for Child Caring Institutions, WCJDF Medical and Health Care Licensing Standards. The successful candidate will also be responsible for prescribing and/or administering medications as necessary and appropriate. Additional duties include participating in on-call coverage at a 24-hour facility for pediatric clients, evaluating and managing acute psychiatric/behavioral episodes and events, and providing expert education and counseling to clients and their guardians.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must possess a Master's degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited program, PMHNP certification (highly preferred), and current valid and unrestricted license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Michigan. Additionally, the selected candidate will need to possess two or more years of post-degree experience as a Nurse Practitioner in psychiatry and obtain credentialing in required content such as BLS.
