Overview:


The Tufts University School of Medicine's Graduate Programs (TUSMGP) encompasses the pathways to obtain the Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT), Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Medical Science (MMS) via the Physician Assistant Program, Master of Science in Health Informatics and Analytics (MS-HIA), and Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences (MBS).


The Office of Graduate Student Services for the TUSMGP manages the administrative functions of the Medical School's graduate programs, which include admissions, recruitment marketing, registration, career services, and student support for over 1,000 students on the Boston Health Sciences Campus.


This position is offered in a hybrid format (a mix of onsite and remote work), requiring presence at our Boston, MA Health Sciences campus 2-3 days per week. The specific days and schedule will be coordinated with your supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:


The Admissions Counselor will engage in recruitment, admissions, outreach, and yield strategies aimed at effectively attracting, admitting, and enrolling a diverse and talented student body.


Core Responsibilities Include:
- Gaining comprehensive knowledge of all graduate programs, with a designated focus area

- Managing application processes to ensure completeness

- Conducting outreach to prospective students and applicants to facilitate their progression through the admissions funnel, utilizing Slate CRM to support these efforts

- Collaborating with program directors and faculty to achieve admissions and recruitment objectives

- Meeting with prospective students both virtually and in person

- Organizing and leading on-campus and virtual open houses and informational sessions

- Supporting yield initiatives through outreach and event planning

- Assisting with operational tasks related to student enrollment, including the collection of final official transcripts

- Traveling regionally and nationally for recruitment events, including large conferences, college fairs, and school presentations

- Fostering relationships with feeder schools through research, outreach, and scheduling information sessions

- Creating and updating competitive analyses and undertaking special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required

- Up to 2 years of relevant experience in an admissions office, whether through work or volunteer roles

- Familiarity with higher education technologies such as CRMs and SISs

- Understanding of admissions processes, outreach, and yield strategies

- Proven experience working with diverse populations

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities

- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills

- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

- Willingness to travel regionally and nationally

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

- Valid U.S. driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Slate, centralized application services, and/or WebADMIT

- Background in graduate admissions

Work Schedule:
This is a hybrid role requiring on-campus work 2-3 days each week, with some evenings and weekends as necessary.
