Metalico is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mobile Equipment Operator & CDL Driver to join our team. This role involves transporting materials and operating a mobile baler at customer locations, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Operate and maintain both tractor-trailer trucks and mobile scrap balers according to established procedures.
  • Conduct thorough pre-shift safety inspections of equipment and ensure proper maintenance is carried out.
  • Safely transport materials and operate the mobile baler, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Identify and sort materials based on ferrous and non-ferrous grading requirements.
  • Complete pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs for DOT record-keeping compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch personnel and customer representatives.
  • Contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to Metalico's safety standards and promoting best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Demonstrate experience operating tractor-trailer trucks and mobile balers.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all traffic regulations.
  • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be physically fit and able to perform the demands of the job.
