At DICK'S SPORTING GOODS INC, we're passionate about empowering athletes to achieve their dreams. As a Retail Sales Lead - Apparel, you'll play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving sales growth in our apparel department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager in executing brand standards and driving sales growth.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a customer-first approach and providing guidance to teammates to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Plan, organize, and control daily operations, including building an effective team and aligning on necessary workforce to execute daily assignments and game plans.
  • Strategically leverage teammates to ensure brand standards are met, programs and processes are executed daily, and tasks are delegated based on priority level.
  • Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards, following established floor sets, signage requirements, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment standards.
  • Assist the store leadership team with general supervision in the store, adhering to Company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement training programs for teammates, including onboarding new hires and cross-training current teammates.
  • Prioritize coaching and developing oneself and others, providing hands-on coaching and teaching the 'why' behind tasks, plans, and processes.
  • Lead by example to support the vision of the organization and store, helping teammates understand how their responsibilities align to the common purpose and organizational goals.
  • Create an inclusive store environment where everyone feels welcome and safe, and is treated with respect.

Requirements
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Prior retail sales experience or customer-focused experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 15-35 lbs. items repetitively.
  • Ability to work extended periods of time standing or walking.
  • Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet with use of a ladder, aerial lifting device, or platform.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods of time.
