Lead Sterile Processing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Certified Sterile Processing Tech to join our team at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital. As a key member of our Surgical Services and Central Sterile teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring the proper decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, supplies, and equipment to the OR and other areas of the hospital.
Responsibilities- Assemble instrument trays for operating rooms and oversee daily operations of all activities related to the reprocessing of reusable medical supplies and instrumentation.
- Ensure all team members follow proper operational procedures and assume responsibility for scheduling new employee orientation, on-the-job training, and in-service education and facility quality assurance programs as needed.
- Complete documentation required by facility related to inventory/equipment requests and repairs.
- Maintain a professional relationship with all facility departments as necessary to ensure effective and efficient support to caregivers.
- Prepare instruments and supplies through cleaning, packing, sterilizing, and storing procedures.
- Perform equipment distribution and routine cleaning and maintenance.
- High School Graduate/GED
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician
- Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment, and instruments
- Ability to lift 100 pounds and carry 50 pounds
- Minimum of 1-2 years of previous experience; Lead or Supervisory level experience is strongly preferred
