Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician II plays a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety by ensuring the proper cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of medical equipment and instruments. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Preparation: Prepare rooms and organize instruments, equipment, treatment trays, and supplies for specified departments.
  • Cleaning and Sterilization: Clean and decontaminate instruments, containers, and patient equipment using detergents and disinfectant solutions under regulatory standards and internal policies and procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Inventory, order, replenish, and distribute instruments, reusable medical equipment, and medical supplies for general supplies and surgical carts.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain and control inventory, and maintain applicable records and files.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, manufacturer, and infection control practices.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: 1 Year of Experience
  • Certification: Certified Board Sterile Processing & Dist (CBSPD), Certified Reg Central Service Tech (CRCST), Certified Sterile Proc/Distr Tech (CSPDT), or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
