Job Overview

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

  • Ensure the functionality of all facilities within the District to fulfill departmental obligations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of high school education or equivalent GED from a recognized institution (mandatory)
  • Possession of a valid Texas Driver's license with a satisfactory driving history
  • Basic understanding of commercial maintenance and carpentry practices
  • Experience in commercial painting and flooring is advantageous
  • Mechanical skills and a willingness to learn are essential
  • Knowledge of safe operation of power tools is required

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on District facilities and structures, executing scheduled maintenance tasks
  • Oversee the upkeep of all physical buildings and structures, including concrete, flooring, drywall, and commercial carpentry, as instructed by the department supervisor
  • Organize and complete daily work assignments, ensuring accurate documentation of tasks, work orders, and supply procurement
  • Initiate work orders as necessary within designated areas
  • Follow daily instructions provided by relevant administrators
  • Comply with all District policies, procedures, and safety regulations
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance of assigned service vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Manage personal timekeeping and communicate any absences appropriately
  • Execute additional duties as assigned to meet the needs of the District as determined by departmental leadership
  • Foster effective communication and positive relationships within the assigned department and with all relevant contacts

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors
  • Exposure to varying temperature conditions
  • Involves considerable walking, standing, climbing, lifting, bending, stooping, and reaching
  • Regular travel throughout the district using a light-duty pickup truck
