Job Title: CVOR Technologist

Tenet-AZ Region is seeking a skilled CVOR Technologist to join their team in Goodyear, Arizona.

Job Summary

The CVOR Technologist will be responsible for assisting the physician with advanced tasks during surgical procedures, including cardiopulmonary bypass/heart-lung machine use, cardiac assistive devices, and vascular access and interventions.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare for surgical procedures by pulling appropriate instruments and supplies, reviewing case carts for correct instruments and supplies, and ensuring good working order of instruments.
  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs, scrub, and provide instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during surgical procedures.
  • Demonstrate principles of aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure, participate in counting sharps, instruments, and sponges, and prepare instruments for cleaning following each case.
  • Ensure that all surgeon preference cards are accurate and assist with OR turnover between cases.
  • Participate in or lead the training and orientation of surgical staff and students, as assigned.
  • Follow safety procedures regarding medication labeling, appropriate handling of specimens, appropriate handling of sharps, time-out procedure, radiation and laser safety, infection control, assembling and disassembling instruments.
  • Be proficient to scrub on at least two surgical specialties.
Requirements
  • Surgical technologist certification program
  • Minimum experience: 3-4 years of experience in a surgical technologist role
  • Preferred experience: 1 year in CVOR setting
  • Required licenses/certifications: Surgical technologist certification and Basic life support certification
  • Hours per week: 40 hours
  • On call requirement: STAR program
