Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join our team at US Engine Valve. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and specifying advanced electrical, mechanical, and computer-controlled systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design control systems for machine tools, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
  • Select and justify capital equipment for manufacturing processes, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Improve current machine tools to increase uptime, quality, and productivity, while reducing scrap and costs.
  • Provide engineering support to production equipment and processes, including advising maintenance personnel.
  • Establish and implement cost-saving activities to support overall plant requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal engineers to drive continuous improvement programs.
  • Authorize and approve changes to machine tool programs, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Train associates on new technologies and manufacturing processes, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Maintain and follow Quality Management System and Environmental Management System requirements.
  • Participate in team activities, championing team goals and objectives.
  • Track and accumulate cost savings, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Develop, maintain, and review PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.
  • Technical knowledge in machine function, processes, control systems, CNC, PLC, servo drives, stepper motor drives, and electrical/electronic systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and practices.
  • Detailed abilities in capital equipment justification, project scheduling, and managerial planning.
  • Excellent human relations and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and develop maintenance personnel.
  • Ability to self-manage assigned project tasks and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Preferred experience in data-driven analysis and problem-solving methods.
