About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified School Nurse to join our team at LEAD Charter School. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in promoting the health and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide health services and screenings to students and staff, as required by law and/or board policies.
  • Collaborate with the school physician, other health professionals, and community agencies to ensure a healthy school climate and minimize absence due to illness.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive health education programs and serve as a resource person to teachers.
  • Administer prescribed medication to students and provide training and supervision of emergency administration of epinephrine for designated school staff.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures for comprehensive health education and services.
Requirements
  • Valid New Jersey School Nurse Certificate
  • Demonstrated success in supporting underserved populations with health issues
  • Demonstrated expertise in school health nursing practice and emergency procedures
  • Knowledge of child growth and development, community and family dynamics, current health issues, and wellness education
  • Knowledge of community health and social services resources and ability to communicate effectively with non-school health professionals and social service agencies
