Clinical Nurse-Mount Sinai Hospital-9 West-Medicine Step Down-Full Time-Nights

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse to join our team at Mount Sinai Hospital's 9 West-Medicine Step Down unit. As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional outcomes.
Responsibilities- Deliver patient care by incorporating the principles of Relationship Centered Care and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills to manage patient care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.
- Prioritize patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning after hospital care, delegating to others as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing, demonstrating effective allocation of material resources.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate degree in Nursing with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN Program.
- Relevant clinical competence in the area of nursing practice assigned.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse with current registration in New York State.
- Basic Life Saver (BCLS) certification.
- NRP (Labor and Delivery, NICU department) certification.
- ACLS (in ED; PACU/ASU; ICUs; Telemetry Units; SDU; IR, Interventional Cardiology (CCL/EP/Echo); L&D; Endoscopy, and APN Adult Oncology) certification.
- PALS (in ED; PACU; IR; Peds ICU, and APNs Pediatric Oncology departments) certification.
