Position: Financial Project Analyst

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina

Objective of the Role:

The Financial Project Analyst is responsible for ensuring fiscal integrity and project effectiveness by consistently evaluating, interpreting, predicting, and reporting on project expenditures, cash flows, and income. This position guarantees the execution of project-specific methodologies and precise financial supervision for initiatives in the Substation EPC sector, encompassing utilities, battery storage, rail, and data centers. The Financial Project Analyst works in close collaboration with project management and essential stakeholders to formulate comprehensive cost frameworks, uphold precise financial documentation, and facilitate strategic decision-making, thereby contributing to Linxon's expansion and success in North America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing evaluation, interpretation, forecasting, and reporting of project expenditures, cash flows, and income.
  • Track and document project modifications, implement project-specific methodologies.
  • Create comprehensive project cost frameworks and coding in accordance with Standard Work Breakdown Structures.
  • Collaborate with Project Management and other stakeholders (Legal, Procurement, Quality, HSE, etc.).
  • Utilize cost allocation and project accounting principles to guarantee accurate cost reporting, including the preparation of month-end progress accruals.
  • Monitor and present project performance indicators (cost, P&L, revenue, cash, change orders, claims).
  • Identify and assess cost discrepancies, maintain change logs, and integrate approved modifications into forecasts.
  • Conduct variance analysis, devise recovery strategies, and prepare cost-to-complete projections.
  • Assist tendering teams with commercial considerations and liaise with clients.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, support contract management, and fulfill bonding requirements.
  • Provide assistance for resource planning, ad-hoc analysis, and preparation of position papers.
  • Comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Support the project management team in developing and enforcing lessons learned within the organization.
  • Collaborate with Contract Management and Project Management Teams to prepare and assess change orders or claims.
  • Billing/Payments: Prepare customer invoices and follow up on cash collection. Monitor supplier payments and coordinate with other functions as necessary.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of Project Controls at the Linxon Global level through knowledge sharing and utilization of the PIMS.
  • Occasional travel to project sites, approximately once per quarter.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive background in project control, estimation, project accounting, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with budget allocation, establishing cost baselines, and change management.
  • Experience in EPC management, particularly with lump-sum price contract models.
  • Risk management expertise and understanding of field and construction operations.
  • Proficient in MS Excel for analysis and reporting.
  • Able to work cross-functionally in a matrix organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience (project control, reporting, accounting).
