Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialty Doctor to provide medical input support to the Inpatient Forensic Psychiatry team based at Brockfield House, Wickford.
Main Responsibilities- Provide medical input for inpatients on Lagoon ward, with a focus on delivering high-quality care and treatment.
- Work collaboratively with the Consultant and multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Participate in weekly multidisciplinary meetings and attend CPA reviews and formulation meetings involving service users under their care.
- Contribute to MDT Risk Assessments and decisions about treatment, ensuring a safe and effective care environment.
- Provide general medical care, undertaking appropriate physical examinations and organizing relevant investigations as deemed necessary.
- Use therapeutic skills to treat patients, working within the framework of the Care Programme Approach.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date written records, ensuring effective communication with the Consultant and other team members.
- Attend education meetings on Tuesday mornings as part of their continuing professional development.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Doctor to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality forensic psychiatric services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and develop their skills and expertise in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Person Specification- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment. Section 12 (2) approval under the Mental Health Act 1983.
- Experience of working with adults in a community/inpatient forensic setting within mental health services.
- Relevant specialty clinical knowledge and clinical judgement, with the ability to apply sound clinical knowledge relevant to the job and specialty.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to adapt language as appropriate to the situation.
- Holds and will use a valid UK driving licence.
