Patient Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. As a key member of our dialysis healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Assist patients with their dialysis treatment, including setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, monitoring vital signs, and providing education on dialysis procedures.
- Treatment Setup: Prepare and organize supplies and equipment for dialysis treatments, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
- Communication: Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care, including reporting any changes or concerns to the registered nurse or supervisor.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document patient treatment information, including vital signs, treatment parameters, and any notable events or interventions.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; must meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification requirements.
- Experience: Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and basic computer skills.
This position requires frequent standing and prolonged periods of walking, with occasional lifting and moving of patients and equipment. The work environment is characteristic of a healthcare facility with moderate noise levels and exposure to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.
