We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Stress Engineer to join our team at Safran. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing structural evaluations of aircraft primary and secondary structure, as well as interior products, to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review complex structural substantiation documents, including stress analysis, static test plans, and interface loads analysis.
- Work with minimal guidance from senior engineers to complete substantiation documents and provide guidance to junior engineers.
- Research relevant technical specifications, aircraft configurations, and data to understand loading environments and structural requirements.
- Communicate with program and engineering managers, senior engineers, and product/project engineers to provide structural feedback and status updates.
- Lead the input of information for design reviews and approve drawings and engineering change notices for structural airworthiness.
- Review and disposition nonconformance reports to validate repair schemes.
- Manage individual and overall project tasks to schedule and budget in the engineering task management system.
- Support and lead the development of processes and standards for the stress domain.
- Engage with customers on technical meetings and oversee and mentor less experienced stress engineers.
- Participate in internal design reviews and ensure task deadlines are met.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in aerospace, aeronautical, mechanical, civil, or related engineering field.
- Minimum 8 years of stress analysis experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong knowledge of CAD, PLM systems, and computational-based analytical software.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and company specifications.
- Ability to perform analysis with classical equations and numerical (finite element) analysis methods.
- High-level proficiency with static test equipment, fixtures, and procedures.
- Full knowledge and application of the stress engineering manual.
- Strong understanding of material properties, material test methods, and processes to obtain material design values.
