Position Overview:

The Pediatric Echocardiography Specialist will utilize advanced equipment to generate images through high-frequency sound waves directed at specific regions of the patient's body, facilitating cardiovascular diagnostic assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct pediatric echocardiograms and ensure transmission for evaluation.
  • Incorporate patient history, medical documentation, and laboratory results to modify sonographic examinations as required.
  • Assess, consolidate, and relay preliminary findings to the pediatric cardiologist, fellows, and nurse practitioners as necessary.
  • Execute all measurements and calculations essential for each examination in accordance with ICAEL standards.
  • Perform laboratory tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain operational records and assist in the upkeep of documentation pertinent to ICAEL certification and re-certification.
  • Instruct patients, students, fellows, and new technicians on all facets of echocardiography.
  • Engage in staff meetings, research initiatives, quality assurance programs, and collaborative groups. Contribute to achieving institutional, divisional, and departmental objectives.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Program.
  • Candidates must possess ARDMS certification or be eligible for ARDMS registry. Graduates from CAAHEP accredited programs must achieve OB/GYN registration within 12 months of employment.
  • ARDMS credentials must be renewed annually.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in dedicated pediatric cardiac sonography is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, a solid customer service background, and proficiency in computer usage are essential.
  • Capability to operate ultrasound machinery effectively, assess sonograms for diagnostic information, communicate findings to physicians, adhere to departmental protocols, and interact efficiently with patients and healthcare teams.
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $59.62

Note: Salary offers will be determined within these ranges based on various factors, including experience, skill set, training, and education.
