Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Waste Pro. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and body components on heavy-duty and light-duty trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs and maintenance on all equipment to maximize safe and productive operations.
  • Communicate with managers/drivers as to issues with vehicles and discuss preventive techniques that minimize future repairs.
  • Complete all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of suspension inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Knowledge of brake system inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electrical system inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic system inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools with the ability to interpret and make repairs from service manuals.
  • Ability to complete work within suggested repair times (SRTs) and the ability to estimate time and material required for repairs.
  • Knowledge to provide assistance and guidance to assistant technicians and shop helpers.
  • CDL Class B (preferred within 12 months).
Work Environment

The normal setting for this job is inside and outside with occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.
