Position Overview:
Supports surgeons and other healthcare professionals in surgical environments. Prepares patients, surgical suites, and instruments for upcoming operations. Collaborates during surgical procedures as an integral member of the surgical team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepares surgical suites, ensuring that all instruments and materials required for the operation are thoroughly sterilized, organized, and functional.
3. Provides essential care during the pre-operative stage.
4. Prepares the patient's skin for surgery; assists in positioning patients in the operating room; monitors vital signs and observes patient status throughout the procedure.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of an accredited surgical technology training program.
3. Certification as a surgical technologist from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
4. Minimum of one month of relevant experience and/or training.
5. BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting.
2. Nicotine Testing - To ensure a safe and healthy environment for our patients, employees, and visitors, McLaren Health Care conducts nicotine testing during the pre-employment process. Individuals who test positive may re-apply for employment after a six-month period.
