Adjunct Professor of Mobile Game Apps Development

The Adjunct Professor of Mobile Game Apps Development position provides high-quality instruction and maintains a positive learning environment in the classroom, with a strong emphasis on teaching, supporting, and evaluating students. The faculty role provides instruction and monitors teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the Department Chairperson or other leadership members, in consultation with the Department Chairperson. The incumbent must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask while engaging large groups of people with required and related materials.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach assigned courses as scheduled, designing curriculum that embraces diversity and fosters talent in students while modeling inclusive teaching strategies, with an understanding of the socio-cultural issues of traditionally underrepresented groups.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, determine and submit grades timely, and communicate progress feedback as well as other relevant information to students throughout the semester.
- Conduct classes punctually and in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule, employing appropriate assessment techniques to measure students' performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
- Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active and collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge, student and faculty interaction, and support for learners.
- Refer students to appropriate student and academic support services available at the College or in the community.
- Help ensure the College meets its responsibilities in identifying areas of opportunity and systemic concerns while reporting complaints alleging discrimination.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, equitable, and productive work and learning environment where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel valued and are able to contribute to their full potential, regardless of their differences.
Pay rate: $55.88 per hour
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
- Attend all department meetings and required trainings. Working days, evenings, or weekends may be required for this position.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree with relative experience in Mobile App Development.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, C#). Experience working in an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment. Object-Oriented programming experience (and familiarity with design patterns in programming). Ability to provide a significant contribution on at least one shipped game title or large-scale interdisciplinary programming project.
- Portfolio of released applications on the Apple Store and Google Play store. Experience with IOS and Android.
Licenses and Certifications:
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

- Typical office and classroom environment. Regular exposure to moderate noise typical to classroom setting and business offices.

Compensation Details:
Compensation: $55.88 per contact hour
Contact Hour: Two hours equals one contact hour
Hours: Maximum of 12 contact hours per week
