Invasive Cardiology Specialist

About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Invasive Cardiology Specialist to join our team at Geisinger Heart Institute. As a key member of our invasive cardiology department, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our cardiac catheterization laboratory.

Responsibilities

• ">
• Assist physicians with adult and pediatric cardiac catheterizations, including procedures such as myocardial biopsy, transluminal coronary angioplasty and stenting, rotational atherectomy, and more.">
• Practice sterile technique preparing for procedures, including scrubbing, applying surgical gowns, gloving, draping, and setting up instrument tables.">
• Perform emergency therapeutic maneuvers during procedures and initiate life support techniques in the event of a cardiac and respiratory arrest.">
• Record, monitor, and assess hemodynamic data collected during catheterizations and ensure primary and secondary hemostasis during and after procedures.">
• Operate and maintain hemodynamic recording devices, fluoroscopy equipment, cine-angiographic x-ray equipment, oxygen consumption equipment, and blood analysis equipment.">
• Exhibit extensive knowledge of related equipment within the catheterization laboratory and assist with training and orientation of students, techs, cardiology fellows, and new staff members.">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• A graduate degree from a specialty training program.">
• Registration as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) within 2 years.">
• Basic Life Support Certification.">
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months.">
• Certification as a Radiology Technologist.">
