Software Development Engineer, Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our Amazon Managed Streaming for Kafka (MSK) team. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for designing and building new features, making performance improvements, and identifying and investigating new technologies to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build new features and make performance improvements to the MSK service
  • Identify and investigate new technologies to enhance the customer experience
  • Collaborate with other engineers to build a large-scale AWS service
  • Work with senior leaders to define the team's roadmap and identify design and code changes needed in the underlying open-source platforms
Requirements
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
