Position Summary:
The Lead Janitor plays a pivotal role in overseeing a team of custodial staff responsible for maintaining cleanliness in dormitories, work centers, and recreational facilities. This position also involves leading special cleaning projects and managing tasks within an industrial laundry environment as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and assist in the cleaning and upkeep of shared spaces, including dormitories and recreational areas.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, particularly in handling and disinfecting contaminated surfaces.
  • Train new staff on proper cleaning techniques and ergonomics.
  • Manage special cleaning projects as directed, including floor maintenance and carpet care.
  • Oversee inventory and organization of janitorial supplies to ensure efficient operations.
  • Assist in the management of laundry services, including the preparation and distribution of linen.
  • Conduct inspections of facilities to ensure readiness for incoming guests.
  • Participate in safety training and maintain a focus on workplace safety.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on cleaning tasks and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to create and implement cleaning schedules.
  • Maintain documentation for compliance with environmental health and safety standards.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must possess a current ServSafe Food Handler certificate prior to deployment.
  • Valid driver's license and U.S. Passport required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a custodial or manual labor role, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
