As a vital collaborator with our operational divisions at Smithers, the Systems Process Engineer will be responsible for the design, execution, and oversight of a suite of IT-related processes that will be employed by our IT teams. The ideal candidate will possess a solid history of success in managing and enhancing top-tier IT processes, services, and systems. Our expansion at Smithers necessitates the development of new processes to accommodate our growing office locations alongside our established sites. This encompasses processes for licensing, provisioning, ticketing, securing, and maintaining a variety of cloud-based IT technologies utilized throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Management of Help Desk Tier 2 Processes, which includes the creation and implementation of metrics, process enhancements, change management protocols, and the management of vendor and internal IT team relationships.
  • Alignment of Baseline Security and Intune Deployment & Support Processes, which involves utilizing Autopilot for the installation of security software and required applications.
  • Oversight of Licensing Processes, including the administration of third-party contracts to fulfill our internal service level agreements.
  • Management of shared service technologies and support for Data Center and Cloud Systems Maintenance. This includes technologies such as ShareFile and SharePoint, along with the responsibility for consolidated Patch Management across Smithers.
  • Assistance with Baseline Security and Intune Deployment Support Services.
  • Enforcement and compliance with Smithers IT policies.
  • Support for Remote Hands and Coverage during Vacations and Holidays, ensuring seamless IT operations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with interpersonal abilities. Experience in documentation and record management is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT systems, licensing, and security.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience in vendor management is advantageous.
  • IT certifications (e.g., ITIL, CompTIA) are preferred.
