Job Summary:

Gray Television, Inc. is seeking a skilled Meteorologist to join our team at WHNS. As a key member of our First Alert weather team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, personalized, and accurate forecasts to our viewers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce engaging and informative weather forecasts for our weekend newscasts
  • Create visually appealing graphics to effectively communicate weather information
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest weather trends and technologies, including augmented reality
  • Develop and maintain a strong online presence through our website and social media channels
  • Collaborate with our news team to ensure seamless integration of weather content into our newscasts
  • Participate in community events and signature station initiatives
  • Work closely with our team of experienced meteorologists to stay informed and up-to-date on the latest weather developments

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of meteorology with a focus on accuracy and personalized forecasting
  • At least two years of on-air experience in a meteorology role
  • Ability to work alternate hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Passion for severe weather and a commitment to keeping our viewers safe
