Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Acute Care Paramedic to join our team at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care services and support efforts to ensure safe patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct and indirect patient care, prioritizing and consistently providing dependable, effective care in various patient situations.
  • Guide and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, coordinate with ancillary staff, and function within the framework of our policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate patient response to interventions and adjust the plan of care accordingly.
  • Complete competencies and maintain educational development, achieving 75% attendance at staff meetings and demonstrating ability to access and follow policies.
  • Support and assist in the orientation of new staff members, participate in shift change report, and remain an active member of unit- or system-based Shared Leadership councils or task forces.
Requirements
  • Must be in compliance with state continuing education requirements as outlined by Georgia Code 3, 31-11-58.1 and DHR regulations for paramedics.
  • Three years of experience in patient care, with a minimum of two years' experience in IV insertion, preferably with pediatric experience.
  • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification is preferred.
  • Georgia Paramedic license, Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of employment are required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Competencies as defined by the department must be completed within six months of employment.
  • Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment.
