Job Summary:

As a Mammography Specialist, you will adhere to established protocols and operate under the medical guidance of Certified Radiologists to perform mammography procedures. Your role will involve assisting Radiologists during procedures and overseeing the training of student Radiologic Technologists.

Maintaining excellent customer relations is essential in this position.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Graduate from an accredited institution for Allied Health Professionals.

Experience:
A minimum of 6 months in radiologic technology, along with the completion of 40 hours of specialized Mammography training.

Licensure/Certification:
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in both Radiologic Technology and Mammography. A current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card is required. Certification or proof of application for certification with the SCRQSA is also necessary.

Yes - For ARRT and SCRQSA.

Knowledge/Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must. The ability to perform and instruct Mammography exams to achieve satisfactory diagnostic images is essential. Familiarity with MQSA, OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations is required. You will be responsible for the safe operation of Breast Imaging and post-processing equipment, as well as performing quality control to meet MQSA standards.

Other:
This position requires a mature individual who presents a professional appearance and maintains strict confidentiality regarding work-related information.

Contacts:
Frequent interaction with patients, staff, physicians, and student technologists.

Work Demands/Environment:
This role involves frequent standing, walking, and lifting/moving patients. You may need to lift, move, or carry up to 50 lbs. Regular use of finger/hand dexterity and constant reaching with hands/arms is required. You will be exposed to various healthcare environments, including potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and radiation. The work area may have a quiet to moderate noise level, and you may need to work under stressful conditions or irregular hours.
