Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Position Overview: As a Mammography Specialist, you will adhere to established protocols and operate under the guidance of Certified Radiologists to perform mammography procedures. Your role will involve assisting Radiologists during procedures and overseeing the training of student Radiologic Technologists. Building and maintaining positive relationships with patients is essential.

Essential Qualifications:

Education: Graduate from an accredited institution in Allied Health.

Experience: Minimum of 6 months in radiologic technology, with completion of 40 hours of specialized Mammography training.

Licensure/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in both Radiologic Technology and Mammography. A current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card is required. Certification with the SCRQSA must be current or in process.

Primary Source Verification: Required for ARRT and SCRQSA.

Knowledge and Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities are crucial. Demonstrated proficiency in performing and instructing Mammography exams to achieve quality diagnostic images is necessary. Familiarity with MQSA, OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards is important. You will be responsible for the safe operation of Breast Imaging and related equipment, as well as performing quality control measures to meet MQSA standards.

Additional Requirements: A professional demeanor and appearance are expected. Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information is mandatory.

Interactions: Regular personal contact with patients, colleagues, physicians, and student technologists is part of the role.

Work Environment:
Frequent standing and walking, along with lifting and moving patients. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 50 lbs. Frequent use of hand dexterity and reaching with arms. Good hearing and vision are necessary. Exposure to blood, body fluids, and potential infectious materials is part of the job. You may encounter risks associated with radiation and chemicals. The work environment may vary from quiet to moderate noise levels, and the role may involve stressful conditions and irregular hours.
