Job Title: Staff Psychologist

Miami Jewish Health is a leading provider of healthcare and living options for aging adults in the Southeast. Our skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility is located on a beautiful 20+ acre campus just north of mid-town Miami.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Psychologist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide psychological consultations to various clinical services, including assessment and diagnosis, basic neuropsychological testing, crisis management, staff support and education, research screening and rating, and psychotherapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform psychological consults, including assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans, using basic neuropsychological testing such as MMSE, MoCA, and other brief scales.
  • Provide direct support, education, and brief counseling to individuals and families.
  • Serve as part of multidisciplinary teams at Miami Jewish in clinical services, including MIND Institute, Integrated Rehab, PACE, clinical research, and behavioral health for the nursing home, SNF, and Cypen Towers.
  • Provide psychotherapy services to residents and outpatients, including psychoeducational, supportive, cognitive-behavioral, and other relevant modalities.
  • Serve as staff on grant-supported studies and clinical trials, including as a clinical rater.
  • Lead the management of behavioral crises in the nursing home, including involuntary hospitalization.
  • Serve as a resource and educator for staff on psychologically related issues.
  • Be willing to serve at multiple sites and contribute to organization-wide behavioral health initiatives.
Requirements
  • PsyD or PhD in Psychology.
  • One-year post-doctoral supervised experience.
  • Experience working with elderly populations.
  • Experience with patients experiencing neurocognitive disorders, medical disorders, and disabilities.
  • Familiarity with hospital and nursing home settings.
Abilities and Skills
  • Psychological and neuropsychological assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Occasional overnight traveling for research-related programs.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
