Pafford EMS is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated EMT Advanced to join our team. As an EMT Advanced, you will be responsible for providing advanced life support to patients in emergency situations, including medical evaluation, treatment, and stabilization of critically ill and injured individuals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide advanced life support, including medical evaluation, treatment, and stabilization of critically ill and injured patients.
- Respond to emergency rescue situations involving potential loss of life or bodily injury.
- Maintain control, manage, and direct patient care at the scene of a pre-hospital emergency.
- Provide training and instruction to lesser-trained personnel.
- Perform other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree or advanced degree preferred.
- Unrestricted AEMT licensure/certification required.
- CPR for the Health Care Provider (AHA, ASHI, ECSI) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
- Unrestricted state driver's license required.
- Certification in ICS 100 & 200; 300 & 400 preferred but not required.
- Certification in FEMA IS-800.
- NIMS 700 certification required.
- CEVO or EVOC certification required upon date of hire.
- Good knowledge of street systems, addresses, and physical layout of the area.
- Good knowledge of rescue equipment and emergency medical equipment used in Advanced Life Support.
The work requires the incumbent to operate emergency medical vehicles, move medical equipment, and extract injured persons from a wide variety of situations. Situations can involve vehicular, industrial, and residential accidents, injuries, or illnesses and occur anywhere in our coverage area. At times, the work requires movement over various types of terrain, including hilly, steep, rocky, rough, and/or wet/slippery surfaces.
The incumbent must be able to carry or help carry someone from the site of the injury to the mode of transportation (vehicle/helicopter) and attend the injured party to the hospital. In order to perform a physical assessment of the injured party, the incumbent must see, hear, and communicate with the injured party.
Incumbents will be issued and must wear Company-issued uniforms while on duty; additionally, incumbents will be responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of uniforms, as well as all issued equipment.
Incumbents are required to carry a Company-issued pager/radio at all times in order to receive immediate notification of an assignment.
