Job Description

Job Title: Kitchen Attendant

Location: Middletown, PA

Duties:

  • Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, including the scullery, dining room, serving area, walk-in cooler/freezer, and hand wash area.
  • Respond promptly to spills in the kitchen, dining room, scullery, hand wash area, and serving area, cleaning them up within 5 minutes of notification.
  • Ensure all drain traps and troughs are free of food particles at the end of each duty day or upon request.
  • Sweep all areas daily and wet mop all areas at least once every other day.
  • Remove trash from the facility and replace trash bags in empty receptacles in all locations.
  • Wash, rinse, sanitize, and air dry items, including cookware, serveware, tableware, and utensils, after each use.
  • Ensure all cookware is clean and available for immediate use in food preparation.
  • Manually wash items using a three-compartment sink, applying chemical cleaners and sanitizers, and use the dishwashing machine.
  • Properly use equipment according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Replenish tableware, including utensils, dishes, glasses, bowls, and trays, ensuring immediate availability.
  • Replenish condiments, including napkins, salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise, ensuring immediate availability.
  • Clean walk-in coolers/freezers, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down racks, and clean reach-in refrigerators once per service period.
  • Thoroughly clean hoods with a grease-cutting solution and empty and clean all interior hood grease traps.
  • Remove hood screens and conduct a thorough cleaning of the hood screens and hood itself before returning the screens to their original mounted location.
  • Empty, clean, and air-dry the clipper machine according to manufacturer instructions at the end of each duty day.
  • Delime the clipper machine biannually or according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Wipe down dining tables with sanitizing solution daily and dining chairs seats with sanitizing solution monthly.
  • Put chairs up onto tables prior to sweeping and wet mopping the dining area and stack chairs in the dining room before sweeping and wet mopping.
  • Clean trash receptacles with cleaning solution, removing stains and stuck-on refuse, and allow them to air-dry biannually.
  • Remove cobwebs once per weekend and clean the cleaning closet, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning the drain area biannually.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Maintain unexpired certifications, including ServSafe Food Handler Certification, and all required licenses for operating in a commercial kitchen.
