Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Behavior Support Specialist to join our team in the Districtwide Special Education department. As a key member of our team, you will provide individualized behavior support services to students under the guidance of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and behavior specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality behavior support services to students with behavioral difficulties, particularly Autism and other Developmental Delays.
  • Complete accurate documentation of student behavior and delivery of behavior support services.
  • Follow BCBA/Specialist guidance regarding time recommended per individual student.
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans and provide campus-based programming and support as directed.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and understand and adhere to FERPA laws and regulations.
  • Provide training and support to staff in implementing Behavior Intervention Plans and documenting progress.
  • Maintain RBT certification and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training program certification.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 30 credited college hours preferred.
  • Registered Behavior Technician credential required.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Sensitive to working with diverse populations of children.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and a high level of professionalism.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
Working Conditions

The employee may be required to perform physical restraint as part of CPI training. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move materials and objects.
