Overview

MEDICAL UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL AUTHORITY (MUHA) seeks an experienced Registered Nurse II to join their team. This individual will provide exceptional patient care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes.

About the Role

This is a 36 hour per week position working varied shifts within the Medical Center including rotating shifts and occasional overtime as needed.

The successful candidate will have an Associate's Degree in Nursing, be licensed as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state, and possess current Basic Life Support certification from an American Heart Association recognized equivalent. Advanced Cardiac Life Support is also required for most nursing areas within the hospital.

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, this role provides individualized, goal-directed patient care at the competent level, utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process. The successful candidate will deliver safe and effective care, interacting with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired results. Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing direct and indirect patient care to families and patients.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Utilizing the nursing process to develop individualized patient care plans.
  • Delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Documenting patient information accurately and efficiently.
  • Participating in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.


Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:
  • An Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from an American Heart Association recognized equivalent.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification for most nursing areas within the hospital.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and achieving optimal outcomes.
