Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our Facilities Services team at Washington State University. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for performing journey-level troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and installation or replacement of electrical services in industrial, commercial, and educational facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair facility electrical distribution systems ranging from 12 volts to over 750 volts.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance tasks to ensure safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.
- Install or replace electrical equipment, including motors, generators, and electrical panels.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential electrical hazards and take corrective action to prevent accidents.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and facilities staff to ensure seamless operation of electrical systems.
Requirements:
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as an electrician or full journey status as an electrician in a union.
- Four years' applicable work experience in electrical maintenance or construction for institutional, educational, or commercial type facilities.
- Vocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Valid driver's license.
- Current Washington State EL-01 Electrical License/Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work experience within the last 5 years with electrical maintenance or construction for institutional, educational, or commercial type facilities.
