As a Hand Therapist, you will be responsible for the evaluation, assessment, treatment program planning and implementation, re-evaluation, and discharge of hand therapy patients in a dynamic and attractive surgical orthopaedic practice setting.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations, including patient history and objective findings, and design programs tailored to the individual needs of the patient.
- Review physician orders and office notes, diagnostic testing results, etc. to establish an appropriate treatment plan based on clinical evaluation findings.
- Provide discharge planning and instruction to patient and family members.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and aides.
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
- Certified Hand Therapist preferred. OT must be willing to obtain CHT certification.
- Current Florida licensure.
- Minimum five (5) years experience required in hand, wrist and shoulder rehabilitation, customized splinting for post-op care.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Lifting, pulling, and stooping when assisting patients up to 300 lbs.
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
