  • Promote best practices, contributing to the establishment of high scientific and engineering standards within the team.
  • Encourage a culture of experimentation and applied science at Amazon.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar.
  • PhD or Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Experience in areas including algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, and high-performance computing.
  • At least 1 year of experience in developing models for business applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics with a focus on natural language processing, recommendation systems, or information retrieval.
  • Hands-on experience with Visual LLMs.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed NLP/ML conferences (e.g., ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, AAAI, CVPR).
  • A track record of scientific thinking and innovation, with contributions that have advanced the field.
  • Experience with distributed systems, web services, or large-scale data processing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation: Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is determined by several factors including market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers a comprehensive compensation package that may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
