POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Senior Java Backend Engineer plays a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of robust IT solutions. This position involves crafting detailed technical specifications, engaging in unit testing, and maintaining both scheduled and unscheduled applications developed internally. The role also includes evaluating and conducting performance assessments of third-party products. Senior Engineers are tasked with integrating IT Controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and the data they handle. They lead project initiatives, supervise outcomes, provide mentorship, and serve as a key technical resource for fellow developers.

    • Hands-on experience with HTML, SOAP, REST, XML, and JSON services
    • Proficient in database querying and manipulation - SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, No-SQL, flat files, etc.
  • Familiarity with unit testing, release protocols, coding design, documentation standards, and change management processes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The following qualifications are preferred and reflect the desired knowledge, skills, and experience:
  • Experience in the healthcare sector
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Development experience in security applications - LDAP, Siteminder, ForgeRock
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the IT industry, with a strong background in technical design and coding.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
A related Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
