Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Coordinator to join our team at Northern Maine Medical Center. As a key member of our support staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of residents to medical appointments, leisure activities, and other off-site events.

Responsibilities:
  • Escort and transport residents to/from medical appointments and leisure outings as directed by the Activities Coordinator, with assistance from the activity department and volunteers.
  • Conduct errands for the facility as directed by the Administrative Secretary.
  • Complete in-service education programs on an annual basis.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with other departmental staff.
  • Follow all facility policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the safety of residents under your supervision.
  • Work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, and ancillary service providers.
  • Demonstrate dependability and punctuality in your work schedule.
  • Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
  • Present a professional appearance at all times.
  • Assume accountability for data contained in the employees' handbook.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety within the Department and organization-wide.
  • Be responsible for patient and employee safety in your work environment.
Requirements:
  • Must possess a minimum of a High School Diploma.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Experience in a nursing/skilled facility is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to speak English in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress.
  • Must have sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics to enable these senses to function adequately.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people.
  • May be required to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of 50 pounds.
Salary Information:

The estimated salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
